Recent Additions to the Group's Main Indexes
The number of entries in the Group's Main Index continues to grow - there are now over 4,500 entries for Seago events. Entries added in the last few months include:
Don't take everything written as gospel!........... I found a 1861 census record for a James Seago married to Harriet and their family in Prittlewell, Essex. James and Harriet gave their ages as 54 and 51 years. With six children aged between 1 and 8 years of age, they seemed a bit old......... looking further, they appear in the 1881 census, where they also give their ages as 54 and 51 years! James was actually born in 1826. (Mike Higgins)
The Groups' new web site continues to attract new enquires..........
Nick SEAGO e-mailed us after seeing the web site and is interested in finding more about his grandfather.....
Bobby Seago, in the USA, contacted us about John Sego 1715-1784 = Margaret Birmingham. Unfortunately, we have no more information other than that included in our new web page about this early American SEAGO.
Through a coincidence we have brought together two people (one in New Zealand, the other in Maidstone, Kent) sharing a common ancestry in the Lloyd family. Both had made enquiries about a Thomas Seago - a glass scalloper in the early 19th century. Neither seemed aware that they shared a common ancestry, as they both identified only some of the children born to a John William Lloyd, born 1839.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission's lists - update....
Following last months news that Seago's are included in the CWGC web site, further searches reveal there are details of eighteen SEAGO's, one SEAGOE, one SEAGON and two SAGOs who lost their lives in the service of their country during the two World Wars.
